Where: Denizen Eiswerk

About the event

you make the music, you sign the contract, but do you know what it really means?

001 is open to musicians of all levels  ✰ hobbyist, emerging, professional & anyone who's music-curious ✰ whether you're an instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer or just starting out, we'll be talking all things music law ── .✦ royalties, rights, deals, the fine print that decides who actually gets paid.

joining us is Constanze Kopf, who knows the music world from both sides, as a classical pianist and as a Senior Associate at Scheuermann Westerhoff Strittmatter in Berlin, a firm working across music, media and IP law, she advises clients on music, media, copyright, trademark and employment matters.

Constanze will be walking us through the music law landscape, what to know, what to watch for, and what most artists find out the hard way.

this is principle-based education, not 1-1 legal advice. please come with questions, even better if you can submit them before the session here.

this session will be taught in english.

we look forward to seeing you there 𐔌՞. .՞𐦯

About the host

Welcome to f* the contract, a legal education project founded by creative lawyers who deeply understand both sides of the table. Born out of real conversations with musicians, dancers, and designers, the project aims to bridge the gap between complex law and the creative community. Besides providing vital legal knowledge, the goal is to connect independent creatives living in or visiting Berlin.
