Coming Back to Yourself — Finding Ground When Life in a New Country Feels Harder Than Expected
When: Thursday, 18th June 18:30 – 20:00
Where: Denizen Berlin
This workshop provides a safe, supportive space to explore the emotional and mental burdens of migration, helping you find your footing when life in a new country feels heavier than expected. Even if you are already "functioning"—you have a job, a place to live, and social connections—it is completely normal to feel an underlying sense of anxiety, disorientation, or a struggle to truly feel at home.
You will get to dive deep into how your nervous system responds to uncertainty, change, and the loss of familiarity. Together, we will explore the connection between your emotions and unmet needs, shifting the internal dialogue from "What is wrong with me?" to "What do I need?".
If you have moved to Berlin recently (or even years ago), find yourself moving between multiple countries, or feel overwhelmed and disconnected after the initial settling phase, this event is for you! You will leave with a refreshed perspective on your migrant experience, clarity about your emotional needs, and simple, actionable somatic exercises to down-regulate and support yourself in everyday moments of overwhelm.
