What is A Hidden Variable?
A Hidden Variable is a Berlin-based initiative exploring the unseen forces — scientific, psychological, and philosophical — that shape our world. Through exhibitions and collaborations, it reveals connections between disciplines, minds, and modes of perception. The name references “hidden variable theories” in quantum physics — the idea that beneath apparent randomness lie deeper laws. Similarly, in psychology, unseen variables influence thought, creativity, and behavior. Our goal is to make these invisible forces visible — through art.

What to expect – Opening Night, July 1st:

• Artworks inspired by science
• Works created by practicing scientists
• A keynote talk by Dr. Fernando Gago on quantum physics and perception
• A live electronic set by Nute
• Drinks, music, and a relaxed, engaging atmosphere
• Inspiring conversations between artists, scientists, and curious minds
• The launch of an emerging creative community at the intersection of disciplines

Why it matters

This is not a one-off event. A Hidden Variable is the first public step of a Berlin-based community that is actively forming — bringing together like-minded creators who explore scientific ideas through artistic expression. It’s a space for experimentation, exchange, and future collaborations across fields.
